Citroen has rolled out a fresh version of the C3 hatchback, and it’s making a bold statement. Say hello to the Citroen C3 Sport Edition. Even though it’s tagged as a limited edition, Citroen hasn’t said how many units will be made. That part is still under wraps.
Only Turbo-Petrol. Only Shine Trim
The Sport Edition is only available with the turbocharged petrol engine. That means you won’t see this version in the regular naturally aspirated models. It’s also based on the Shine trim, so it packs all the features from that variant and builds on it.
Now, let’s talk numbers. The Sport Edition carries a premium of Rs 21,000 over the standard C3.
Here’s how the prices compare:
- Shine Turbo Dual Tone MT – Rs 9.36 lakh (Standard) / Rs 9.57 lakh (Sport Edition)
- Shine Turbo AT – Rs 10 lakh (Standard) / Rs 10.21 lakh (Sport Edition)
- Shine Turbo Dual Tone AT – Rs 10.15 lakh (Standard) / Rs 10.36 lakh (Sport Edition)
What’s New in the C3 Sport Edition?
The car looks much sportier now. The standout update is the SPORT decal that runs from the front bumper, continues over the bonnet, and ends on the roof. There are extra decals on the doors too. ‘Sport Edition’ badges are placed on both front doors to let everyone know this one’s different.
A new Garnet Red paint option has been added. It looks sharp and grabs attention.
Inside the cabin, Citroen has added custom sport-themed seat covers. Matching floor mats and seatbelt cushions carry the same vibe. The pedal kit also gets a sporty treatment. A nice touch is the ambient lighting, something not seen in the regular C3.
There’s also an optional Tech Kit. It costs Rs 15,000 more and includes a dashcam and wireless charger.
Same Engine. Same Punch.
Under the hood, the Sport Edition has the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It delivers 109 bhp and 190 Nm of torque with the manual gearbox. If you go for the automatic, torque goes up slightly to 205 Nm.
You get the choice between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The car can hit 0-100 kmph in around 10 seconds, which is quite decent for this segment.
Overall, the Citroen C3 Sport Edition adds a bit more style and character without touching the performance. It’s for buyers who want a hatchback that looks sportier without breaking the bank.
