MV Agusta has always been known for its bold designs and beautiful machines. But this time, they’ve gone a step further. To celebrate one of the most iconic MotoGP riders ever, Giacomo Agostini, MV Agusta has unveiled something truly special.
It’s called the MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 AGO. Only 83 bikes will be made. Each one will be signed by Agostini himself. And yes, there’s actual gold involved.
A Birthday Tribute That Hits Different
The bike was announced on the eve of Agostini’s 83rd birthday. The number of units, 83, isn’t just random. It marks each year of the legend’s life so far. This isn’t just another motorcycle. It’s a rolling tribute to a man who brought home 13 world titles for MV Agusta.
And if that’s not enough, each bike comes with a numbered plate on the steering head. That plate is crafted from 18K gold. Yes, real gold. Just to remind you how premium this machine is.
Details That Scream Exclusive
Every detail on this bike feels special. The ignition key isn’t your average key. It comes encased in a billet aluminium shell, anodised in red. What’s cooler is that it also has a brass coin inside. That coin? Made from an actual trophy Agostini won. Handpicked by the man himself.
The fairing is made entirely out of carbon fibre. On both sides, you’ll find the iconic #1 livery in yellow. A direct nod to Agostini’s race bike. There’s also a leather strap on the fuel tank with a golden plaque that reads “15 Titoli Mondiali” or “15 World Titles.”
Design That Feels Vintage Yet Fresh
The Superveloce 1000 AGO keeps the same shape as the regular model. But the added touches make it stand apart. It comes with silver-spoke wheels that give off a classic race bike vibe. The seat is wrapped in rich alcantara and features Agostini’s name stitched into it.
Each bike will also ship with a collector’s kit. That includes a certificate of authenticity, a matching bike cover, and carbon fibre heel guards for the passenger. These aren’t accessories. They’re part of the package.
Still a Beast Underneath
Just because it’s a limited edition doesn’t mean it skips on performance. The Superveloce 1000 AGO is powered by a 998 cc inline-four engine. It churns out 208 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 116.5 Nm at 11,000 rpm. That’s some serious power.
It’s built for speed. But also comes with a 5-year factory warranty. That’s rare for such an exclusive motorcycle.
Not for the Faint of Heart or Wallet
All this luxury, performance, and legacy doesn’t come cheap. Each unit is priced at 83,000 euros. That’s around ₹82.54 lakh in India. But for collectors and die-hard fans of Agostini, it might just be worth every penny.
MV Agusta has made AGO editions before. But none quite like this one. This could be their most exclusive and expensive tribute yet.
