The Medium Range version offers a claimed range of around 315 km. The Long Range variant can go up to 421 km on a single charge (ARAI certified). In real life, expect somewhere between 250 to 370 km depending on your driving style, AC usage, and traffic.
The car uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Power delivery is smooth. You can expect around 82 PS and 114 Nm torque in MR. The LR version offers a bit more. It’s not a performance car, but it’s quick in the city. 0 to 60 km/h comes in under 7 seconds in the LR version. That’s more than enough for daily use.
Charging options
You can charge the Punch EV at home or use public charging stations. It supports both AC and DC charging.
- With a standard 15A plug point at home, it can take up to 9 hours for a full charge.
- If you use a 7.2 kW fast charger (wall box), you can bring down that time to around 4 hours.
- DC fast charging can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just about 56 minutes.
Tata has added a smart feature to show nearby charging stations using the infotainment system, which is very helpful.
Design and styling
The Punch EV looks a lot like the petrol version but with some cool changes. You get a closed front grille, new LED headlamps, and EV-specific badging. The front design is inspired by the Tata Curvv concept. The rear looks clean with connected tail lights. You can choose from several fun colors too.
It’s compact yet muscular. High ground clearance and wide stance give it a sporty feel. It still has that mini SUV charm that buyers loved in the petrol Punch.

Step inside, and you’ll notice the cabin is well put together. The dashboard layout is similar to the petrol model but with better tech.

Tata Punch EV has not yet been crash-tested by Global NCAP, but the petrol version scored 5 stars. So, expectations are high.
