Mahindra XUV700 facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time. The test car was covered in heavy camo but still gave us some hints about what’s changing. The SUV is already one of Mahindra’s bestsellers, and now it’s all set to get sharper design and more loaded interiors.
New face seen under the wrap
From what we could see, the front grille is bigger and has a new shape. Headlights looked circular on the test car, but those could be dummy units. The production version might come with new LED lights. The bumper also looked like it had new cuts and styling. Even with camo, the SUV had a strong road presence.
Big tech upgrades expected inside
While the cabin wasn’t shown, reports say Mahindra will add a lot of new tech. It may come with three screens on the dash. One for the driver, one for infotainment, and a third screen for the front passenger—just like what we saw in their EV concept.
Some other features that could be added:
• NFC-based car unlocking
• Augmented Reality head-up display
• 16-speaker premium sound system
• Selfie camera inside
• Wireless charging pad
All these features will make the cabin feel more modern and rich.
Captain seats and more comfort
The test vehicle was seen with a six-seat layout. That means Mahindra may offer captain seats in the second row. It’ll be great for families who want extra comfort. Other features like ventilated seats, sliding second row, and power tailgate are also expected in top models.
No change in engine
Mahindra is not expected to change the engine options. The facelift will most likely continue with:
• 2.0-litre turbo-petrol – 197 PS, 380 Nm
• 2.2-litre diesel – 155 PS (manual), 185 PS (auto)
• 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic options
These engines already perform well, so no reason to update them now.
Launch could happen in 2026
The updated XUV700 might launch sometime in 2026. Some leaks even say it could get a new name like XUV7XO. Mahindra may use the new name to match with their EV lineup style. There’s no official word yet, but it’s a possibility.
Why this update is important
The SUV market is crowded. Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and even new electric SUVs are bringing better features now. Mahindra wants to stay on top. This facelift is a smart move to add more value and keep the XUV700 fresh and exciting.
What we know till now
• Bigger grille and new bumper design
• Headlights likely to change
• Triple screen layout inside (expected)
• New comfort features like captain seats
• No change in engine lineup
• May launch by mid-2026
• Might get renamed to XUV7XO
This update doesn’t change everything, but it adds enough to keep the XUV700 strong in the race. The test mule is out, and Mahindra fans now have something new to look forward to.
