The new Skoda Superb is making a grand comeback to the Indian market in 2025. After being off shelves for some time, this popular premium sedan is now returning as a full import. It will be brought in as a completely built unit (CBU), straight from Slovakia.
Skoda first showed off the fourth-gen Superb at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025. The sedan takes a lot of design inspiration from the latest Skoda Kodiaq. You’ll notice the sharp body lines, sleeker LED headlamps, and a bolder grille with the new ‘Modern Solid’ design.
Feature-rich cabin with big tech
Step inside, and the cabin is a mix of luxury and technology. The dashboard includes three rotary knobs called Smart Dials. These allow you to control the climate, drive modes, and media with just a twist.
It also comes with a huge 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver display. The display could be around 10 inches, adding a premium and modern feel to the driving experience.
The Superb is expected to come loaded with features like:
• Heads-up display
• Wireless charging
• 12-speaker Canton sound system
• Powered seats with memory
• Ambient lighting
• Dual-zone climate control
• 360-degree camera
• ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
• 10 airbags
Interior trims will include sustainable materials and new color options, giving the car an upmarket European feel.
Powertrain options
The India-spec Skoda Superb is expected to offer multiple engine choices. The main one will be the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor, which may come in 204 PS or 265 PS versions. This engine will be paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Some reports also mention that a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine might be offered as the base option. Skoda could also launch the 4×4 all-wheel-drive variant later, possibly with the 2.0-litre engine.
The sedan’s performance is expected to be smooth and strong, ideal for city commutes and highway cruising alike.
Not locally built, but high on quality
Unlike the older model, Skoda won’t build this new Superb in India. It will be imported directly from the brand’s Slovakia plant, which does not offer kits for local assembly.
Because it’s a CBU, the price will be higher, but the build quality will also be more controlled. Skoda says this ensures the Indian version matches the European one exactly in terms of finish and features.
The earlier CBU version of the Superb came in limited numbers, and the same plan will likely apply this time.
Expected launch timeline and pricing
The new Skoda Superb is likely to go on sale by the end of 2025, around December. Since it’s a full import, the pricing will be premium. Expect it to start around ₹50 lakh and go up to ₹60 lakh depending on the variant and features.
Even though that’s a steep price for a Skoda, the Superb is being positioned as a semi-luxury alternative to cars like the Toyota Camry hybrid and some lower-end luxury sedans from Audi and BMW.
Who should consider it?
If you want a premium European sedan that combines space, comfort, and cutting-edge tech, the new Superb should be on your radar. It’s not for the mass market, but for those who enjoy long drives, refined interiors, and advanced features.
The Skoda Superb has always been known for offering more value than its price tag. This new model continues that story—just in a more exclusive way.
