The wait is finally over. Tata has launched the Harrier EV, and it’s already turning heads. We all knew Tata was planning something big in the EV space. But this? One of the best things about the Harrier was space. And nothing has changed here. The EV version still feels roomy and comfortable.
The front seats are large, well-padded, and offer electric adjustment. Ventilated seats are also included. The rear seat offers lots of legroom and shoulder space. Even tall passengers won’t complain.
Boot space is generous too. The battery has been placed in the floor. So no compromise on luggage area. You can still pack for a weekend road trip with ease.
Pure Electric Power
Now to the main part. The electric setup. Tata has built the Harrier EV on its Gen 2 EV architecture. That’s a new platform. Designed especially for future Tata EVs. This one supports all-wheel drive too.
So yes, the Harrier EV comes with dual motors. That means power goes to all four wheels. Great for bad roads, off-roading, or just better grip.
Tata hasn’t revealed the exact motor specs yet. But early reports say it could make around 220–230 PS of power and 400+ Nm of torque. That’s strong enough to give you quick acceleration and confident highway cruising.
The battery is expected to be around 60 to 70 kWh. With that, Tata says the range will be over 500 km on a full charge. Real-world range might be around 400 to 450 km. That’s still solid.
And yes, it supports fast charging. You can charge from 10% to 80% in around 40 to 50 minutes using a DC fast charger. With a home wall box, it’ll take around 8 to 10 hours for a full charge.
Smooth and Silent
Being an EV, the Harrier drives super quiet. There’s no engine noise. Just a smooth whoosh when you press the accelerator.
The power delivery is instant. You feel the torque the moment you touch the pedal. It feels powerful but controlled.
Tata has also worked on the ride quality. The suspension has been retuned for the EV version. It handles bumps better. Feels more balanced. Even at high speeds, the Harrier EV stays planted.
There are different drive modes too. Eco, City, and Sport. In Sport mode, the EV pulls hard. In Eco, it stretches the battery range.
Regenerative braking is adjustable. So you can set how strong you want it. Some people like it strong, so the car slows down quickly when you lift off the pedal. Others prefer a lighter feel.
Tech Packed
The Harrier EV is loaded with features. It’s clear Tata wants this SUV to feel future-ready.

Voice commands work for AC, music, sunroof, and even navigation. There’s also connected car tech through the Tata iRA system. You can control lights, AC, locks, and check the battery from your phone.
The sound system is by JBL. Crisp and bass-heavy. Perfect for music lovers. There’s also wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Safety First
Tata is known for safety. And the Harrier EV is built strong. It comes with 6 airbags as standard. You also get electronic stability control, hill hold, hill descent, TPMS, and ISOFIX for child seats.
The body structure uses high-strength steel. Tata hasn’t announced crash test scores yet. But we can expect it to aim for 5 stars, just like other Tata cars.
Brake feel is solid. Even with the regen braking, it feels natural. And the car stays stable during emergency stops.

Plus, running cost is low. You’ll save a lot on fuel. And government subsidies in some states can bring the price down further.
